ABOUT

Shameka Turner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Bachelor of Social Work from SUNY Buffalo State College in 2015 and her Master of Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in 2018. She has worked with a wide range of populations across diverse settings, including community mental health centers, schools, and home-based intervention programs. Her experience working with adults, couples, children, and families has shaped her strong passion for supporting individuals and strengthening relationships at every stage of life.

Shameka is especially skilled in working with couples and families, helping partners improve communication, repair trust, and navigate conflict with empathy and clarity. She also supports families in building healthy dynamics, strengthening emotional connection, and fostering resilience during periods of transition or stress.

Her clinical approach is strengths-based and person-centered, drawing from multiple therapeutic frameworks to meet the unique needs of each client. She integrates a range of evidence-based and expressive interventions, including EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, relaxation and grounding techniques, mindfulness practices, role-play, sand play therapy, and creative writing or art-based exercises.

Shameka believes that no one is meant to navigate life’s challenges alone. She is committed to providing a supportive, collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped to create healthier relationships and lasting emotional well-being.
