Lauren Davies, MA, ATR-BC, LCMHC-A
My name is Lauren Davies. I am a registered board certified art therapist (ATR-BC #11-089) as well as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A #A18886). I earned my BFA with a minor in psychology from James Madison University in 2006 and my MA in art therapy from The George Washington University in 2009.
I have worked with a wide variety of people from children through adulthood coping with challenges ranging from life transitions, adjustment issues, mood disorders, thought disorders, addictions issues, trauma, and domestic violence.
I have a passion for working with those who are looking for a creative approach to treatment. I employ a strengths-based approach that incorporates positive psychology, mindfulness, guided imagery, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I enjoy collaborating with my clients and their support team to access their inner resiliency and broaden and build upon their current strengths. It is a joy and a privilege to be both a witness and partner to one’s journey to well-being.
