“Living our own truth isn’t always comfortable, but ultimately it takes where we need to go.” - The Bold Type
My name is Evann Lavender (she/her), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA). I moved around a lot as a child, but have spent most of my life in North Carolina. I received my Bachelors of Psychology from North Carolina State University in 2015, and my Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University in 2020. I have a passion for Social Justice, and advocating for all people. I have a background in non-profit and Community Mental Health work.

I enjoy working with adolescents and young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have a passion for helping individuals reclaim their lives back from trauma, and I believe trauma therapy is more important now than ever. I am working towards becoming certified in EMDR. I believe the mind/body connection is very strong, and is important in mental health.

I have experience working in crisis intervention and intensive outpatient treatment models, as well as working with adolescents with severe behaviors, who are involved in the juvenile justice system, and gang involved adolescents.  As a Multi-Systemic Therapist, I conducted family therapy, individual therapy, and implemented substance use interventions with adolescents by following the Contingency Management treatment model.

In my sessions, I aspire to offer a safe, supportive, and empowering environment to my clients, so they can be themselves, and work through whatever is keeping them from being their best selves. I operate through a strengths-based approach, and will try to bring laughter and humor into the sessions (when appropriate) as laughter is the best medicine. Modalities I most often use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness therapy, Somatic approaches, and Ecological Systems approaches.

In my free time I love being out in nature, spending time with my kitties, painting, and exploring this beautiful earth!
