Jamica Mitchell MSW, LCSWA |
"My name is Jamica Mitchell (she/her), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. I obtained my Bachelors of Social Work from North Carolina State University in 2019, and my Masters of Social Work from Fordham University in 2021. My passion has always been to help people, and throughout my career and personal life I have been afforded the opportunity to explore what this looks like. Fortunately, I found my passion in helping people in their healing journey through providing therapy services. As a clinician, it is important for me to utilize approaches that assist individuals with having a deeper and more meaningful connection with themselves and the world around them. In my practice, I utilize a person-centered, strengths-based approach, where the focus is to work collaboratively with clients in identifying their needs and accomplishing their goals. This is done through my engagement of talk-therapy, mindfulness activities, somatic exercises, and providing necessary psychoeducation. I work with children of any developmental stage, their families, adults, and the LGBTQ+ population, who experience anxiety, depression, and ADHD. For those in adulthood, I assist with processing on-going life stressors, familial and relationship changes, and parental functioning. I am a true believer that we are not to experience this world alone, whether that is when we are suffering, or when we experience a true sense of happiness. My goal as a therapist is to ensure that no matter the experience, the individuals I work with always feel supported, safe, and heard in their healing journey."
