"There is no greater journey than the one you take to discover all the mysteries that lie within you." - Michelle Sandlin
My name is Stephanie Fu and I earned a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 2016. I was previously a high school English teacher before being inspired by my students to go back to school for mental health counseling and therapy. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and offer my therapeutic services in both languages.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LCMHC #12503) andI have had experience in community mental health working with kids and adolescents ages 5-18 as well as families and adults working through life stress and relationship issues.. I have worked with clients in individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.
I utilize a Rogerian approach to therapy which is based on empathy and compassion and listening to each client’s story, experience, and individual therapeutic goals. I also incorporate attachment theory, working with clients processing past and present relationships in one’s life in order to enrich and improve current relationships and bonds. In addition to using experiential therapy such as art and meditation, I incorporate several evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, EMDR and eco-systemic family therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.
