"We need people in our lives with whom we can be as open as possible. To have real conversations with people may seem like such a simple, obvious suggestion, but it involves courage and risk."- Thomas Moore
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #10739) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (#3483). I earned my Master of Science in Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling from East Carolina University in 2013.
I have been working in the mental health field in some capacity since 2010 and truly enjoy the work that I have done with various populations. I completed my undergraduate internship at a Suboxone clinic for adults and my graduate internship at a residential facility for adolescents. Since graduating from East Carolina University I have been working through a community agency with adults, adolescents, and families. I utilize an eclectic counseling approach as all clients have different needs and therefore deserve to have treatment tailored to their specific needs and personality. While I have the clinical knowledge to address a variety of mental health needs I most frequently work with clients with one of more of the following counseling needs; substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, LGBTQ issues, behavioral issues, anger management, PTSD, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, and chronic medical conditions. Though I do work with many populations my passion is working with adolescents and utilizing nature centered therapies as appropriate.
In my free time I enjoy reading, hammocking, camping, hiking, cooking, exercising, any and all water activities, attending community events, and spending time with my friends and family.
