"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all" - Dale Carnegie
In 2014 I graduated from the University of Mississippi, with a Master of Education in Community Counseling. During my graduate internship, I assisted college-aged individuals with a diverse spectrum of needs. During my internship with the Center for Learning and Teaching Excellence, I facilitated groups and worked with individuals working through family and life stressors. I have also worked with at risk-youth and have worked closely with parents, teachers and other professionals to treat each child from a holistic approach. I have experience working to treat issues with anxiety, chronic and acute stress, depression, borderline personality disorder and DBT therapy, body-image, spiritual direction, bullying, sexual abuse, trauma, family and couples counseling and LGBT issues. When appropriate, I utilize methods in meditation, mindfulness, and stress management skills.
As a therapist, I work with a client centered approach. I work to empower individuals with prescribed clinical methods that are best suited for the individual and the situation. These can range from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems work, Mindfulness-based approaches, Meditation/Guided Visualization, and Creative/Expressive Arts.
In my off time, I enjoy hiking, reading, cooking, songwriting and playing music, meditation, and practicing martial arts.
